Hercules typically recruits Associates directly out of MBA programs as well as from the investment banking or private equity industry. Associate candidates typically have either five to seven years of post undergraduate experience or have recently completed an MBA program.

Associates receive broad-based exposure to the full-spectrum of financial and strategic issues. The relatively small size of each group offers Associates the opportunity to work closely with senior members of the firm and to have extensive client interaction. By working closely with both the analysts and the deal sponsor (Managing Director), the Associate will be responsible for accurate financial analysis, computer modeling, research, competitive analysis, as well as critical on-site due diligence that is then integrated into an investment due diligence recommendation to the Investment Committee for approval.

Candidates who receive an offer will begin their employment in early August.
